The company plans to use the latest tools to strengthen its technology, consumer and farmer apps, expand its product range, build a robust supply chain, ensure customer acquisition, etc.
Organic Kitchen, a company that offers 100% certified, authentic and organic products sourced directly from the farms in a transparent and traceable manner, recently received $1 million in seed funding. The Company has received the latest round of funding from a variety of prominent angel investors including Mr. Siddharth Chaudhary, Mr. Abhishek Dhaka and Mr. Nitin Sahjwani.
Organic Kitchen would use the funds to build technology, develop the consumer and farmer app and expand its product range to over 250 certified organic fruits, vegetables and foods. Through this recent funding, the company will implement supply chain strategies for organic food products by developing farmer clusters and drones in four agroclimatic regions: Solan (Himachal Pradesh), Nawalgarh (Rajasthan), Palla (Delhi) and Sundana (Haryana). These regions would not only provide authentication for inbound delivery, but also act as a marketing tool for the backend. The company wants to use these centers to create farmer profiles, train farmers in organic farming and buy directly from farmers on the farm.
Speaking of seed funding, Krishnank Atrey, CEO and co-founder of Organic Kitchensaid: “We are excited to advance our plans to transform conventional kitchens into organic kitchens and promote the culture of consumption of organic food in Indian households with the support of our investors. Today, consumers have become more aware of what ends up on their plate and do not want to eat foods laced with harmful chemicals and pesticides that affect their health and immune system.
“Faced with increasing demand coupled with our latest cash flow, we intend to build a profitable supply chain and strengthen our sourcing and supply in PAN India, expand to 35 major Indian cities and expand our footprint to 15 agroclimates, 150 dronas (agricultural hubs). Our team is also working hard to onboard over 12,000 farmers and attract 1 crore customers that align with our long-term plans,” he added.
Dealing with the development of funding, Sidharth Chaudhary, Angel Investor of Organic Kitchensaid: “The demand for organic products is huge these days and Organic Kitchen is on track to deliver authentic organic produce straight from the farm to customers’ doorsteps. I am struck by the team’s noble concept of implementing organic farming methods and their initiatives to adequately complement farmers’ efforts and overall well-being. I look forward to investing in Organic Kitchen throughout their future journey and financially supporting them as they embark on this remarkable, impact-driven journey.
To date, Organic Kitchen has onboarded nearly 1900 farmers and helped them increase their income by 60%. According to its short-term strategy, the company plans to onboard over 4500 farmers, reach over 6000 customers and expand to six agroclimatic zones with six dronas (collection centers). .
